Corporate Social Responsibility

Wilson Security actively works hard to improve relationships in the communities in which we operate.

With our long-standing history of working with community groups, charities and foundations as part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, we are proud of our positive continuation and commitment to the communities in which we operate.

Wilson Security has an established Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy that sets the direction and establishes our priorities. Our CSR strategy supports our overall business goals through alignment with key national partners and regional community organisations. We select partners based on our four key focus areas: Mental Health, Domestic Violence, Family Support and Local Communities.

This strategy is supported by a dedicated National CSR Committee, which works collaboratively to achieve our strategic objectives by focusing on and driving local initiatives and activations and providing ideas, feedback, and project support that align with our key focus areas.

Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility

Social responsibility is the responsibility of an organisation to manage the impacts of its decisions and activities on society and the environment through transparent and ethical behaviour.

CSR: In Action

In 2023, Wilson Security proudly surpassed $1 million in donations to the Alannah and Madeline Foundation (AMF) since the inception of our partnership in 2020.

This incredible milestone supports our joint belief that all children and young people should be able to live a happy and safe life, free from violence and trauma.

Thanks to this partnership, 12,000 children have received Buddy Bags, 3,500 educators have been trained through the Trauma Consultancy Service (TraCS), and 35 children have received specialised support through the Children Ahead program.

Nick Frangoulis, CEO of Wilson Security, emphasised, "...our true achievement lies in the tangible differences we're making in the lives of vulnerable children and young people. This milestone...is a testament to collective action fueled by compassion..."

Sarah Davies, CEO of AMF, expressed gratitude, stating,

"We are immensely proud of our partnership with the brilliant team at Wilson Security. Knowing that they care as much as we do, share our values, and take every opportunity to champion our cause is incredibly special.

Through their dedication and support, they have raised over $1 million for the Foundation. This phenomenal achievement enables us to continue our mission of helping children and young people live free from violence and trauma. We’re truly thankful to have them on our team!"

CSR Key areas of focus

Our commitment focuses on four key areas:

Mental Health

1 in every 5 Australians – about 4 million people – suffers from a mental illness in a given year, and almost half the population has suffered from a mental disorder in the past.

Family Support & Wellbeing

We strongly believe in helping keep children safe from violence and bullying. From prevention, care and advocacy programs, campaigns and events to community connections, we strive to provide resources, funds and a platform to assist with delivering these outcomes.

Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence has a significant impact on victims and the community. 1 in 3 women have experienced at least one incident of violence from a current or former partner since the age of 15. Survivors may continue to need support for years after the violence has finished.

Local Communities

As a national organisation with a large footprint, we are passionate about supporting the communities in which we operate. We encourage our people to make donations and find ways to give back to the communities in which they live and work.

Wilson Security CSR: Three Tiered Framework

Our National CSR Committee meets fortnightly and comprises at least one member from each region and business function.

Strategic – National Corporate Partnerships

A centralised national approach with consistent messaging across
Australia.

Operational – Regional Community Initiatives

National and regional community initiatives to add value to
corporate partners.

Tactical – Internal Engagement & Communities

Regions to have a level of funding to support local CSR initiatives with their staff and communities.
